Export Limitation?

I live in Ukraine. I use Amazon for ages – but at last I found top-secret book that it seems like can’t be exported from US:

emfbook

I know no other Eclipse/Java/Cocoa/whatever book that can’t be exported from US. There should be something really big in this one – if only I find some bookstore that would smuggle it here for a decent delivery price…

Hi I can see something silly is going on but as a a work around have you though about buying it as an ebook from Safari? Of course this may also not be possible but i don’t live in the Ukraine so I can test it

  Silly to say the least I’ll spend some time to look for some other hard copy and if I will not find it then I’ll consider ebook. I’m still all for old-school paper books

There are options, sometimes Amazon US is hard on export stuff. May I suggest “The Book depository”, they ship (nearly) everywhere and free, here’s the same book there:

Also, sometimes Amazon US can’t ship, but Amazon UK can, so you may want to try buying it on Amazon UK instead:

  Ok, I’ll check. The trick is that Amason US provides really decent shipping price – like $5/book. The shipping prices in other places are often around $20 or so.

Sorry to hear about your troubles ordering from Amazon. And thanks for your persistence and willingness to shell out extra for the book.

I’ve asked our publisher if this restriction is unusual and if there’s anything we can do to fix it. I’ll let you know if I hear any good news.

  Thanks. Hope you will be able to lift the restriction – I have never seen it on any other book (including Eclipse series). I guess there’s some technical problem on Amazon.
